Rowan in England

In commemoration of Rowan's 2nd birthday (yes, he turned 2 today), I am officially starting this series of blogs detailing our 6 week tour of England (and southern Scotland), beginning with where it all started--the airplane to Heathrow. Rowan loves planes, and he was extremely excited to be in one and see all the other planes taking off and landing, saying things like "There's the airplane!" and "Look at that BIG airplane!"

We landed at Heathrow around 9PM and stayed overnight at the Hilton there, where we were greeted by an angry English businessman who didn't like Rowan's constant opening and closing of the door to our room. Otherwise, it was a pleasant enough experience. The hotel didn't charge anything for his food either, a courtesy we were to find throughout the country (thank God!). From here, it was off to Oxford.
