Home sweet home

On the deck of our new house in Bloomington (pictures forthcoming), Rowan and Daddy sit on one of the rocking chairs outside in the morning air facing the sun--it's a hot day, not a cloud, not a gust of wind. Rowan and Daddy both have crazy hair. Just one of those days, I guess.

Of a sudden, Rowan stands up. What does he see? What could possibly have drawn his attention away from the intricate patterns of the treated wood of the deck?

Alas, the swing set! Thank God!

This is a decent view of our background, which is fairly extensive for our purposes, so we have it groomed by one of our neighbors who used to run a lawncare service and now works as a police officer. Our fence borders four other houses, and not far beyond is the intersection of two of Bloomington's main roads, so we're all in relatively close quarters--very chummy. Our neighbors are extremely nice and suburbany, and just about everyone has children--ALL GIRLS. Rowan will have a field day--some day. Next up, our trip to Tanglewood.
